The Cube Route

This film was shot in 1981 on a Canon 1014 Super-8 camera at a frame rate of about 2fps.

The solution to the various Rubik's Cube orientations seen in the film were painstakingly practiced and then repeated over the course of the ten minutes or so that it took to film the sequence.

The re-randomizing of the cube at the end required the casting of an ancient spell... (1:10m)
